MUSIC LICENSING
Q - What is music licensing?
(top)
A - The licensing process allows the
licensee to legally use music owned by the licensor for a specific
time and manner for a specified fee.
Q - When must I license music?
(top)
A - You must obtain a valid license
BEFORE you use the intended music. The license will include the time
of and/or extent of the usage allowed.

CUE SHEETS
Q - What is a music cue sheet?(top)
A - A cue sheet is a record of the
exact broadcast of the music in context of the entire program. Performing
rights societies use cue sheets to identify, log and pay performance
royalties.
Q - When
must a cue sheet be provided?
(top)
A - A cue sheet must be provided to Trakwerx BEFORE the program first
airs for
broadcast.
Q - What does it cost? (top)
A - Performance royalties are not payable by the producer of the
program. The broadcasting host (network, cable, satellite carrier)
pays a blanket fee to the applicable performing rights societies.
Performance royalties are payable to publishers and writers from
these fees.
Q - Do I need
to do this? (top)
A - YES! Otherwise a significant source of income (and incentive
to keep licensing fees low) is lost to the publishers and composers.
Q - What happens
when I license music from Trakwerx?
(top)
A - You get great music at a reasonable price.

MUSIC DOWNLOADS
Q - How do I download music
from Trakwerx? (top)
A - To download music from Trakwerx,
you must first register for an account by completing the Register
to Download application form. There is a one-time deposit requirement
of $200 at the time of registering which will be credited to your
account and will be applied to your music license purchases. Once
your application has been approved, you will receive a confirmation
email including your logon password and user id. You may log on at
any time and gain full access to the Trakwerx library at which time
you may search, listen and download any selections you wish. Your
downloads will be tracked and reported to Trakwerx, and you will
be responsible for submitting cue sheets and licensing reports.
Q - What happens with the deposit
I pay when I register to download? (top)
A - The deposit you submit at the time
of your registration will be credited to your Trakwerx account and
applied to your purchases as a "credit on account". When
you submit a new music license report, we will bill you accordingly,
deducting the $200 on your account up to the amount of the purchase.
If your purchase is less than $200, the balance will remain in your
account until the next purchase.
Q - What if I need something longer than
30 seconds? (top)
A - Trakwerx downloadable music samples
are each 30 seconds. As you search our
